PLAYport - Troubleshooting your network

 Symptom

  • The material is not updated on the screen
  • It says "Connection lost" in some areas or all areas
  • Health status displays three red circles at startup.

 

Wired connection (Ethernet) Wireless connection (Wi-Fi)

If 3 green circles appears on the screen when it starts up the media player's network have connection to our servers and the problem should be solved.

  1. Check that all cables are properly connected into the media player

  2. Restart the media player. Disconnect the media players power cable from the wall socket or from the media player.

  3. Verify that the player have a Ethernet cable connected. it can be connected by a USB-Ethernet adapter (PLAYport max/mini) or directly in to the player (PLAYport HD)
    Remove and reconnect the Ethernet cable to verify that is is connected properly.

  4. Verify that the player is configured for a wired connection.
    Verify this by connecting a USB-keyboard to the media player and press F2 to open network manager. Playport max/mini requires a adapter to micro usb. this is included in the box.
    Verify that wired is selected. If wireless is selected navigate down and select wired.
    Exit the menu by pressing ESC or save the changes with F5
  5. Open network manager (F2) and press CTRL + ALT + F12.
    (The menu can altso be accessed from the player app by pressing F6 then F12)
    Chose Ethernet, and verify that it is enabled.
    If it is disabled, enable it by navigating to Ethernet and press enter. navigate right and select "Ethernet is Enabled/Disabled" 
    Exit the menu by pressing ESC

  6. If the player still can't connect to the network check the hub, switch or router that the player is connected to. and  verify that it has a physical connection to it. 

  7. If the screen still can't access our servers i may need to additional configuration Static IP-adress, proxy, or mac address verification. Contact your local It-Technician. 


  8. If it still can't access the internet after point 1-7 a IT-technician needs to verify that port 80 and 443 is open to the ip range 192.165.76.0/24 - 192.165.77.0/24 (192.165.76.0 - 192.165.77.255)
