Philips - Installation of the PLAYipp software

This guide shows how to install PLAYipps software on a Philips monitor with an internal mediaplayer that is supported by PLAYipp.

Note! 

PLAYipp recommends that you update your screens to the firmware version that is listed below before you install PLAYipps app. Below you will find links to firmwares, Be careful to choose the correct firmware to the model you have.

Step 1: Prepare USB drive with software.

  1. Use a USBdrive that is formated to FAT32
  2. Download the folder named "Philips" and put the folder in the root of the USB drive. The folder need to be unpacked (not ziped)
    (see example below)
    Be careful to download the correct files to your model.

Step 2: Install the PLAYipps software on the screen.

When its time to install the screen you need to have prepared a the USB drive in step 1. Take the USB drive and connect it to the screen and follow the steps below to complete the installation. 

XXBDL4050D
  1. Power up the screen
  2. Select language on the screen.
  3. Select the network depending on network availability.
  4. Choose “Import Signage Display Settings from USB” and click next.
    (This can also be done from settings > systemtools later.) 
  5. Choose Skip on “Please Select clone source.”
  6. Click on Finish
  7. Open the the android settings (press Home + 1888 on the remote)
  8. Choose Settings >  Signage Display > Custom App > Select App > PLAYippLauncher > Save
  9. Click on the source button on the remote and choose Custom.
  10. To enable power saving mode you need to change power save to mode 3
    This setting can be found when using the remote and pressing home > advanced option > power Save
  11. If the media player is activated in PLAYipp manager the connected content will download and then be shown on the screen. If the media player is not activated in PLAYipp manager an activation code will be displayed on the screen.

  1. start up the screen
  2. choose language.
  3. Select the network depending on network availability.
  4. Choose “Imortera Signage screen settings from USB” and press next
    (This can altso be done from settings > systemtools if you have have skipped this step)
  5. The installation have now be completed.
  6. Open the the android settings (press Home + 1888 on the remote)
  7. Choose Settings > source settings > Signage Display > Custom App > Select App > PLAYippLauncher > Save
  8. Go back to the android settings (back 3 times)
    (Or Home+1888 and choose settings)
  9. Choose Apps > Player > permissions > activate storage
  10. Välj App > PlayippLauncher > permissions > activate storage
  11. Click on the source button on the remote and choose Custom.
  12. If the media player is activated in PLAYipp manager the connected content will download and then be shown on the screen. If the media player is not activated in PLAYipp manager an activation code will be displayed on the screen.

  1. Power up the Philips screen
  2. Select language on the screen
  3. Select the network depending on network is availability.
  4. Select "skip" when you have the option "Signage display settings"
  5. Select "skip" when you have the option "Clone media files into internal"
  6. When "setup is complete!" is shown. Chose "Finish"
  7. Open the android settings :POWER + volume down on the backside of the screen
    (The default password is 1234)
  8. Navigate to  Settings > System tools.
    click on "import signage display settings"
  9. Choose "/mnt/usb_storage/USB_DISK1/philips/"
    if the source file cant be found please try another USB port.
  10. Navigate to Signage display > Custom app 
  11. Choose "PLAYippLauncher"  
  12. Navigate to Settings > System tools.
    Inactivate the navigation bar.
  13. Open Apps.
    POWER + volume down on the backside of the screen
    (The default password is 1234)
  14. Start "PLAYippLauncher" by clicking the icon.
  15. If the media player is activated in PLAYipp manager the connected content will download and then be shown on the screen. If the media player is not activated in PLAYipp manager an activation code will be displayed on the screen.
